What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine is health care from a distance. Instead of going to your provider’s office, you meet remotely by video call to discuss your mental health concerns. This is best done from a computer, but can be delivered via your phone. 

Many health care providers offer telemedicine, giving more patients access to care and the tools and therapies they need to support their health and well-being.

Andrea only sees adult patients through her telemedicine platform. Her remote practice allows her to provide much-needed mental health services to people throughout Colorado, including rural areas otherwise not served by mental health services.

What are the benefits of telemedicine?

Telemedicine offers many benefits to you and your provider. First and foremost, it’s convenient. With telemedicine, you don’t need to take extra time off from work or drive to an office. Instead, you meet with Andrea from a place that’s private, convenient, and comfortable for you. Having good internet/WIFI service is a must.

What conditions are treated through telemedicine?

Andrea treats many common mental health conditions through telemedicine. Her areas of expertise include:

Which services are included in telemedicine?

Andrea's telemedicine services include:

Psychiatric diagnostic evaluation:  At your initial consultation, Andrea completes a full evaluation to help her develop a diagnostic impression based on the criteria set by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). The evaluation includes a mental health history review and diagnostic screening.

This initial evaluation takes 50 - 60+ minutes.  

Follow up appointments with medication management:  Medication management is using psychiatric medication to ease your mental health symptoms. Based on your psychiatric diagnostic evaluation results, Andrea works with you to find the right medication and dose that best meets your needs, if warranted.

All medication management appointments take approximately 20-25+ minutes.

She recommends combining psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, ADHD coaching, or other counseling) with medication management for the best outcomes. She also recommends seeing your primary care provider for your routine wellness exams and lab work.
