Anxiety is the fear, worry, or dread you feel during stressful situations. Anxiety is normal and your body’s way of coping with stress — and once the stress is gone, your anxiety should ease.

What types of anxiety disorders are there?

The many types of anxiety disorders have different triggers and symptoms. They include:

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)- GAD is a chronic form of anxiety that causes persistent worry and fear about everyday things (health, finances) that seep into every aspect of your life. This makes it hard to go to work or school or spend time with friends and family.

Panic disorder- Panic disorder is when you have frequent, unexpected panic attacks. A panic attack causes an intense feeling of fear and doom, along with physical symptoms like chest pain, heart palpitations, and sweating.

Andrea uses the information she gathers during this 50–60+ minute evaluation to develop a diagnostic impression and personalized treatment plan for you.
